strength. Turn your concern about our waters
into the power to preserve them.
You can help BCLF
develop our direction and agenda by including your two key concerns or issues with your contribution.
Dear Friends of Bayfield County’s lakes, streams and
shorelands:
When you support one of northern Wisconsin’s most
influential surface water advocacy organizations, you’ve got something that most
others don’t: Strength.
The Bayfield
County Lakes Forum, an affiliate member of the Wisconsin Association of Lakes,
has clearly demonstrated that it can fight successfully for better local,
county and statewide regulations and policies to protect and preserve our
shorelands and waters.
We also educate
everyone we can about the issues facing our waters from vacationers to seasonal
and permanent residents, from law makers to law breakers. Our Northwest Lakes
Conference has grown to become the best summer lake event in the Midwest. Plus,
we have kept it right here in our county and have even offered to help folks pay for
their tickets! Learn about the Northwest Lakes Conference.
There’s good
reason why Wisconsin Representative Gary Sherman recently nominated us for the
Wisconsin Stewardship award. He and many others know what we do on behalf of
our waters. Consider what we have done.
Now imagine what more we could do with the support of every individual,
business and organization that enjoys and values our lakes, streams and
shorelands!
We need your
support. With your help we can do much more to protect and preserve our waters
for you and your descendants for generations to come.
Choose one of the
following support categories then send your tax-deductible contribution today. As a Forum
member, you will receive email updates on lake issues, our BCLF newsletter,
voting privileges and the satisfaction of knowing you protect our waters.
Share in our
strength. Turn your concern about our waters into the power to preserve them.
Thank you for helping us keep our lakes and streams clean, safe and healthy for
everyone.

President

Who's Watching Out for YOUR Lake?!
Shoreland zoning changes, lake classification, increased pressure from
boating and fishing , invasive aquatic plant and animal species, water
use conflicts, and rapidly increasing developme nt
impact all lakes in northern Wisconsin. BCLF gives owners and users of
each lake or stream the means to understand the issues affecting their
situation, channels of communication with other lake associations and
individuals, and access to resources which can help lake associations
and individuals improve their lake.
All lakes, large or small, private or with public access, with or without a lake association are invited to be members of BCLF.
We have no membership fees or dues, although we may ask for donations for specific projects.
We have no meeting obligations. We communicate electronically, giving
you more time to enjoy the lake. Our Board of Directors meets
occasionally and we do have an Annual Meeting. BCLF meetings are open
to all.
To participate, designate a delegate to be the primary contact person
for your lake. The contact person does not have to be a resident of
Bayfield County, but should have access to email. Email the BCLF and
ask to be placed on our contact list. That's it! Simple and efficient.
You will receive emails about issues concerning our lakes. You will be able to offer opinions and concerns regarding your lake, too! Email BayfieldCountyLakes@Yahoo.com today!
HOW DO I VOTE?
BCLF has both voting and non-voting participants. Lakes with recognized
organizations [such as lake associations and lake districts] are voting
members. Lakes with no organized structure have full access and input
but do not vote. BCLF will help you organize, if you feel it is right
for your lake. We also have a third catagory: Individual members. They each get a vote plus our newsletter and updates. We will have special offers from time to time for all individual members, too! Email BCLF today!
